But IRC has revised IRC: 6 – 2000 as IRC: 6 – 2014 and published a new code IRC: 112 - 2011 for bridges design. Both the codes were based upon Working Stress Method. Abstract- As per standard practice bridges (Short Span less than 6M) were designed by IRC: 6 – 2000 & IRC: 21 – 2000.
